Lemonade
Lemonade is often enjoyed at the breaking of the Ramadan fast in North Africa. This recipe yields enough syrup to make 1 gallon of lemonade.
Lemons
Total time: 15 minutes
2 cups water
2 cups sugar
1 cup lemon juice

Combine the water and sugar in a heavy pot over medium heat; stir constantly and bring to a boil. Add the lemon juice and return to a boil, then immediately turn off the heat and allow to cool.

To serve, pour ¼ cup of this syrup over ice in a tall glass; add water and stir.
